One of my favorites!
Long live the XJ220!

Me: Look, it’s an XJ220.
Classmates: Lol you know what car that is? Get a life nerd

I was kinda running my economics class the other day... we were talking about oligopolies (thats when a few manufacturers dominate) so we started talking about cars. And a kid was like, well there are a ton of companies.. my teacher goes not really.. can anyone name them?
I jumped out of my seat and started listing... and kids didn’t believe me! Or they’d throw out things like “Lincoln” (part of Ford I’d say) or “GMC” (part of General Motors)
I even listed some EU groups... I could feel the dirty looks from the girls in my class

Hmm. Awesome picture, but not totally true caption. The surface area is way less important to the drag on the car than the pressure drag on the back. So sure, the shape matters, but the surface area really doesn’t.

You have it so bad…I need to come and help you.
My history teacher is a secret Jalop. He had several issues of C&D on his desk, he demonstrated some historical concept by saying something like “say you just bought a new used car”, and he owns an Allroad 2.7T.

Shhhhhh…don’t tell the Camry-driving book writers that.

Thats why I love my history teacher... he’s a Demuro fan... oh and he drives this:
a 13 Cayman S
But now he’s thinking about getting a GT4 and trading this in.
I’m pretty sure my econ teacher is a very quiet hidden Jalop... he made a British Leyland joke and reference the other day about Lucas which only I got.

That is way too cool for me. A teacher with a GT4 would be amaze balls.
One teacher at my school brought her weekend car for a couple days…a gray 2006 Boxster. Now this isn’t bad. BUT IT WAS TIPTRONIC. And the new Mustang convertible at school? AUTO ECOBOOST.

Pfff. Just wait until they need cars. I’ve made jalops out of people who couldn’t even open the hood.

hey, teacher cars.. Man its been a long time since I thought about that (I'm old...) but I'll always remember my high school Latin teacher's rides... Her daily was a Dodge Omni GLHS, and her weekend/fair-weather ride was a shinny blue OG Mini Cooper with flares, wide tires and a loud exhaust. For some reason I never talked with her about her cars (i think because she was all business in the classroom), but I remember explaining the GLHS to people and they're all just confused by the concept... *sigh*

ALL! Also...I dropped out of econ....despite your best efforts.
All remaining glory to Varian.

I’m in geometry too. Just finished surface area, volume, and nets. Have a 60 point project due on Monday related to the topic.
:-/
What grade are you in?

It’s hopeless. Me talking to various people often occurs like this.
Person: Why are you so obsessed with cars?
Me: Why are you so obsessed with One Direction?
Person: YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND

How can you not understand something whose name is “Goes like hell”????

Geometry projects absolutely suck. I had one on transformations not long ago.
8th. What about you?

We skipped over the transformation/translation section for now. We are on the last chapter in the book currently. I figure we’ll finish the year with transformations. This project is 48 pages of work. It’s not necessarily hard, just a lot of calculations to plow through.
I'm in 9th grade!

Is the project basically just a big packet of regular problems? That’s what it sounds like right now.
![]() 05/05/2015 at 10:13 |

Yes and no. It’s about analyzing and comparing packing material area, surface area, and volume of numerous different products you could buy in the store. Then there are some reflection/critical thinking questions.

I'm from Bucks County, PA.

Yeah, but it’s Geometry, not Fluids, so to explain all that would make some people confused. It’s not necessarily wrong, just not the whole truth.

Never been there. The furthest north I’ve ever been is Bowling Green, KY to go to the Corvette factory.
